Perhaps it was the big label saying "A pile ofjobbies inside". Having read the scenario well someone has to I was ready for a real duffer of a game. But wait. In a unique change to my reviewing style I decided to play it before slagging it off Incredible. And in a funny kind of way, its not bad.
Okay, there's nothing brilliant about it. The graphics and sound are hardly trend setting. There's nothing in the gameplay that hasn't been done before and better. But its one o'clock in the morning, two of my patrol are dead, another is pinned down by a couple of guards and I'm not going home until I've sorted it out.
Although not as fast moving as it might be, it is fairly involving. The speech pack is as irritating as these things usually are - chiefly being an excuse for the sort of lame humour that makes Michael Barrymore seem alternative.
At times, though, it does give some character to your team. Some react to dangers, such as running out of ammo, with laconic amusement, while others wet themselves. On the down side, thpugh, the mouse control system can be a pain. The first few skirmishes came to an unhappy end as I gunned down my own troops.
Any serious strategy buff will find that side of things a bit thin, while the skirmishes, though fun, are very small scale and come with some fairly tedious bits in between. The island you came to instills madness, fear, horror and the desire to commit suicide in the heads of your people, therefore the game is also a survival simulator. Try to survive such absurdity!
The events of the game introduce us to the changes after the first part of Jagged Alliance. The jungle is still terrible, the trials are just as hard, the opponents are trying to kill us in the same way. What has changed? Now that you are on the verge of insanity, the resources of food will be much less. The mercenaries in your squad will demand more with every illness they endure, and you will have to calm their whims.

It's here that you can browse the personal statistics of an army of mercenaries stats which, for a change, have a massive bearing on their performance , hire goons and acquire arms. You soon learn that mercenaries are a disposable commodity, so don't go getting attached to them.

A number of game modes have been introduced which is based on latest technology and features which enhances players interest towards it and he can enjoy new technology of game play.
